What Is Your God-Given Assignment?

UNCOVERING YOUR KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT

I believe we all have a God-given assignment, or even several assignments that are part of our calling or destiny. Of course, it is up to you to seek God for what it is that He has prepared for you to do.

In this post I will share with you that champions pursue their God-given assignment and how your assignment attracts the favor of God in your life.

Many men and women of God are becoming aware that their work is part of their God-given assignment. For so long, Christians have not felt that their work is ‘spiritual’. They have believed they are required to become a pastor or a missionary to do the work of the Lord.

Whether God has given you the desire to become a doctor, accountant, a mother or a professional foot-ball player, you are a full-time worker for God.

God needs His people to be in every area of the marketplace so that He can reach everyday, ordinary people. He wants to enable those who would never normally visit a church, to hear the Gospel. He needs them to be influenced by the Spirit of God that you and I carry.

Technology has accelerated our ability to reach many, many people or nations for His kingdom. Jesus was teaching a new way of thinking that seemed to contradict the world’s way of thinking.

The Assignment is Not About You

Your assignment is about the plan that God has for you to be of service to humanity. When you focus on your specific assignment here on earth, God will take care of you and your family and all that is yours.

To live in God’s glory,

learn to live in alignment with your assignment.

Dr Lance Wallnau

Your eternal rewards are not about the status you reach as a preacher, teacher, missionary or whatever. But it is whether you reach the full capacity of what God has called you to do within the body of Christ.

It is not for your fame but for God’s glory that His will is accomplished through you.

Wherever we manifest the kingdom here on earth, we are manifesting the culture of Heaven. Our gifts are tied to our assignment! Your assignment is where your provision is! When it comes to your assignment, God will supply your every need including finances, wisdom, resources, divine contacts or whatever else you may need. You can be sure He will not send you out unprepared!

Don’t just have good intentions but be intentional about your assignment and pursue your calling with everything in you! No amount of good intentions will get you there!

Once you are clear on your assignment, own it and run with it! No matter what it is that God has for you to do, writing a book is a great start. It will also compliment what you are already doing, as it gives you instant expert status and credibility. In fact, it is your duty to master the talents God has given you.

It is up to you to nurture the ideas and vision God has placed within you.

Did you realize that Jesus chose business people for His disciples? The ones He chose were fishermen, tax collectors, doctors and others who had influence in the marketplace! These were ordinary people like you and me who worked for a living. But Jesus showed them a higher way to live. And He is wanting the same for us. To be a kingdom leader, we need to think like Jesus and have a kingdom mindset in all we do.

Great leaders find ways to connect with their people

and help them fulfil their potential.

Steve J Stowell

A good leader seeks direction from God. Your dreams should be so big that you need God to help you accomplish them, otherwise they are most likely not from God. It takes courage to step out and fulfil what is in your heart! I believe God loves it when we think big and are prepared to take risks to achieve our goals and desires.

Don’t be afraid to be the leader you were born to be!

Champions Pursue Their God-Given Assignment

RELEASING THE CHAMPION WITHIN YOU

When we think of champions, we usually have a picture in our mind of some sports heroes holding up their medals for a race they have just won. We all have a race to run. In fact, we have a great cloud of witnesses observing us and cheering us on to the finish line!

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,

let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us,

and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith;

Heb 12:1-2a KJV

Champions are so motivated by their passion for their assignment, that they are able to overcome any obstacles in their way. They have what Joyce Meyer calls, a holy determination to accomplish their goals, fully focused on the prize. They are confident and believe in their ability to win their race, because they know God has put the potential for greatness inside of them.

They trust that God has been preparing them for whatever may lie ahead.

Champions know they need others to realise their God-sized dream and that they cannot do it alone. They are passionate about their righteous cause and see themselves being used mightily to help those in need.

Champions are risk-takers. They push past the fear and go for the gold! They cannot afford to fear, as fear will make them consumed with themselvesBut they know deep down they were born for this!

I love this article by Dr Bob Abramson that lists 10 characteristics of God’s champions: https://tinyurl.com/Gods-Champions

If you want to become a champion, then copy someone who is already one. In the book of Corinthians, Paul tells us to copy him. It is well known that we become like those who we spend our time with.  And Jesus is the most awesome champion I know!

Your God-Given Assignment Brings Favor

FAVOR IS SUPERNATURAL ACCELERATION TO YOUR ASSIGNMENT

What was something that all the champions from the Bible had upon their lives? If you said the ‘favor of God’, then you are absolutely right! Bible heroes such as David, Daniel, Esther and Joseph were all connected to kingdom building and they all lived in troubled times.

None of them would have accomplished their God-given assignments or exploits without God’s favor! When God grants His favor, nothing can stop the blessings of God in your life. He will bless everything you put your hand to.

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;

establish the work of our hands for us –  yes establish the work of our hands.

Psalm 90:17 NIV

The favor of God is not earned. It is supernatural! No works or toiling can earn it. Because of your covenant with God that is based on Christ’s finished work at the cross, you automatically qualify for God’s favor.

Grace and favor are used interchangeably in the Bible. The Hebrew word for grace is ‘chen’ which means favor, kindness, graciousness. In the Amplified Bible, grace is referred to as ‘divine favor’.

I like this answer Lance Wallnau received from God when he asked ‘what is favor?’ God said ‘It is when I dip you in my honey, and the blessings of God start to stick to you’.

Favor is the attraction of God TO you that releases an influence THRU you

so that others are inclined to like, trust or work WITH you

in the ASSIGNMENT God gave you.

Dr Lance Wallnau

Of course, if you are living a life that you know is not pleasing to God, He cannot promote you or give you His favor. But when you know that you are in right-standing with God, you can be confident that His favor will follow you everywhere you go.

Then you can receive supernatural increase, restoration, acceleration, recognition and encounter all sorts of amazing coincidences, which are really divine appointments that God has arranged beforehand on your behalf!

How Do You Release God's Favor?

Firstly, by decreeing and declaring it over your life! Really, as a child of God, you already have it but you need to believe you have it! When you are consistently declaring, and walking in the favor of God, it is impossible for the enemy to prevent you from succeeding in the things God has called you to do. So think and speak favor!

If you have God’s presence, you have favor. One minute of God’s presence

can accomplish more than twenty years of your striving.

Heidi Baker

As we walk in God’s ways, God’s favor will begin to manifest the blessing of God in our lives! God wants us to accelerate His Kingdom as we gather together united in our assignment and purpose, and take authority over the agendas of the enemy. Favor is a force and we are to unite together and operate in it to influence this world and manifest the Father’s kingdom culture just as Jesus did!

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor.

No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Psalm 84:11 KJV

Final Thoughts...

With the online world, we have the power to reach so many people in many walks of life. We must be faithful in what God has for us to do, and take this great opportunity seriously, remembering that we are representing our Lord and King!

We are God’s change agents!

Therefore, you must be intentional about pursuing your assignment from God, and be the champion that you really are! Then watch as the favor of God brings the provision and the resources you need as you set yourself to  fulfill your God-given assignment!
